Meet Cindy Bam

“I can remember as if it were yesterday the thrill of planning my wedding and how it inspired me to start my own couture label.  I would love to bring that same inspiration to your bridal or evening gown and help to make your special day as significant as mine was.” Cindy Bam

I am a Cape Town based designer and have channeled my passion for design into the world of bridal and evening gowns for the past 23 years. I work from my Studio in Loop Street, Cape Town where I create luxury gowns that evoke drama and glamour of past eras whilst still maintaining a modern edge.

I have been designing as long as I can remember. At the age of 13, I wrote myself a letter and detailed exactly what I wanted to be when I grow up and everything I wanted to achieve. On that list was that I wanted to be a designer. After finishing my studies in 1993, I moved to France where I studied French at Fac de Lettres Université in Nancy for 3 years. I returned to South Africa in 1996 and moved to Cape Town where I have gained invaluable experience as a designer. It was my own marriage that ultimately inspired me to start my own couture label, to specialize in bridal and evening couture.

My work not only reflects my love for design but also celebrates the sensuality, romance and spirit of women. I absolutely love seeing how my designs make my client glow, how she admires herself, and how she doesn’t want to take her special gown off. It’s my job to make her look unbelievably beautiful and I love doing it. My designs are known for their superior fit with a timeless, modern vintage touch. Every gown is hand-made and lovingly crafted by an in-house team of seamstresses and beaders who share in my culture of striving for exceptional quality in product and service.

In addition to my bespoke design service, I offer a range of unique, ready-to-wear bridal and evening gowns, available for purchase or hire. Clients have the opportunity to try on various styles to see what best suits their figure and personality. All clients are assured of my personal attention throughout the process and can always look forward to a warm welcome and a relaxed studio environment.

Our work is also a firm favourite amongst South African celebrities.
